Fortuna man arrested for attempted murder

FORTUNA, Ca (KIEM)-A Fortuna man is arrested after allegedly firing a gun at a person and into a residence.

25-year old Zachary Haggard was taken into custody Monday after police located him on the 100 block of 12th Street.  This was after he reportedly shot a .22-caliber semi-automatic handgun at a victim Sunday night on the 2300 block of Acacia Drive.

Fortuna Police officers uncovered shell cases in the street and bullet holes at a home.

No injuries were reported.

Haggard is charged with attempted homicide, assault and brandishing a firearm and felony probation violation.
