Large illegal cultivation site located in Miranda

MIRANDA, Ca (KIEM)-Thousands of cannabis plans are seized by authorities at a large illegal cultivation site in southern Humboldt.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s marijuana enforcement team and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife responded to the 3800 block of Thomas Road in Miranda.

The parcel did not have the proper county permit and state license to grow commercially.

Deputies destroyed over 14,000 plants and almost 2,000 pounds of processed cannabis during the service of the warrant.

No arrests were made and the case will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office for review.
