EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM)- When Soroptomist of Humboldt Bay had to cancel one of its major fundraisers, that’s when a nine year-old McKinleyville boy sprung into action.

What began as a passion at just four years old has Cooper Avilia using his dancing moves to help out an all women’s organization, Soroptomist of Humboldt Bay.

Their annual event “High Heels for Healing” was cancelled this year because of Covid-19. So Avilia decided to step up and made a YouTube tap dance video to raise money.

Due to the unforeseen circumstances of Covid-19, Avila could no longer perform his dance solo for the No Limits Dance Academy.

With the help of a local choreographer, he made the video that has raised over $4,000. If you would like to donate to Cooper’s GoFundMe listed below.
