Pelican Bay State Prison employee tests positive for COVID-19

CRESCENT CITY, Ca (KIEM)-As the numbers continue to increase in Del Norte County, one of the 14 COVID-19 cases is a Pelican Bay State Prison employee. That’s according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

There are still 22 pending tests as Del Norte is getting set to receive a state-sponsored testing site. The site should be in operation by the end of the month but the county health department would like to see it happen sooner.

Of the 14 confirmed cases, 4 have recovered and over 630 tests have been administered to Del Norte county residents.
