The Village Housing Project in Arcata is Cancelled

ARCATA, Ca. (KIEM) – A major housing project in Arcata has been cancelled due to the pandemic and the anticipated decrease in Humboldt State University attendance.

The housing projects called “The Village” was intended to be built at the Craftsman Mall site in Arcata.

The developers had already invested over a million dollars into the project, but the applicant Amcal was no longer interested.

The City of Arcata still hopes to re-zone the parcel for additional housing in the future.
