Rio Dell unfurls flags in honor of Memorial Day

On Memorial Day, the Rio Dell-Scotia Chamber of Commerce will host, for the first time in 30 years, the unfurling of sixty American flags on Wildwood Avenue.

Flags, sponsored by a local business or community member, will be posted at 5:30 a.m. Monday.

Rio Dell Mayor Debra Garnes, along with 2^nd District County Supervisor Estelle Fennell, will visit the street around 1 p.m. as they celebrate the holiday.  

Every contribution made enables the Community Resource Center to supply food to seniors during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Community members are encouraged to visit Wildwood Avenue on Memorial Day while maintaining social distancing.
