Area One Agency on Aging Ombudsam Collects Thousands of Greeting Cards for Local Care Facilities

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — Within just weeks, Area One Agency on Aging Ombudsam has received roughly 2,000 cards, drawings and art pieces to distribute to residents living in Humboldt and Del Norte County long term care facilities.

Due to Covid-19, local long-term care facilities have temporarily stopped welcoming visitors. With many residents experiencing isolation during this time, area one agency on aging decided to have people “send some cheer.” Cards and boxes have been received from states as far as Hawaii and Kentucky.

The Area One Agency on Aging would like to give thanks to all of those that have donated thus far and are responsible for the incredible success.

Messages of encouragement are still being accepted and can be sent to 434 7th Street, Suite 207, Eureka, Aa 95501.
