Local residents without water for several hours

SAMOA, Ca. (KIEM)-Local residents were without water this morning for emergency repairs.

Water in Samoa was turned off Tuesday at about 9 a.m. for emergency repairs, according to The Danco Group.

Water had to be shut off affecting about 88 homes on the peninsula to allow for repair according to The Danco Group’s maintenance worker.

Water resumed about three-and-half hours later after repairs were made to a damaged PVC pipe.

Steve Harincar does maintenance for Danco and says he’s repaired plenty of water main breaks, however, this one was a little unusual.

The plastic pipe appeared to have been gnawed on by an animal.

According to The Danco Group  a community communication plan to streamline communication needs in times of emergency shut offs or repairs has been enacted.
