Guidelines released as California churches prepare to reopen

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca (KIEM) – The California Department of Public Health has recently released guidelines and procedures for reopening California churches.

A thirteen-page document was released on Monday listing several protocols that places of worship are asked to follow.

Some of those include discontinuing self-service food and beverages, frequently disinfecting high traffic areas and training staff in COVID-19 prevention policies.

Places of worship must limit attendance to 25% of building capacity or allow a maximum of 100 attendees, whichever is lower.

For the first 21 days of re-opening, the impact of this attendance guideline will be reviewed and reassessed by the California Department of Public Health and the County’s Public Health Department.
