Person of interest in Campton Road murder arrested

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM)- Person of interest in the Campton Road murder of 84-year-old Roger Mitchell Clark, has been arrested according to the Eureka Police Department.

Wesley Lee Starritt was arrested as a person of interest in this homicide and two other recent stabbing cases.

The 22-year-old Eureka resident was booked into the Humboldt County correctional facility on unrelated charges including violation of probation, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and other offenses.

An autopsy was performed Saturday on the victim. Specifics of cause and details of death are not being released at this time but the death was confirmed as a homicide.

The man was identified as ClarK, more commonly known as “Mitch”.

Just after 7:30 on May, 20 Eureka police responded to the 4000-block of Campton Road for a report of a man found deceased alone in the residence.

According to the Eureka Police Department, it was immediately clear the death was suspicious.
