Large Police Presence Forces Closure of 7th Street in Eureka

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — A large police presence forced the closure of 2 city blocks in Eureka Thursday. EPD responded to a report of a domestic dispute on the 1300 block of 7th Street just after 3 pm.

After receiving word that one of the parties involved might be armed, officers set up a perimeter around the house. As a result traffic was detoured around 7th Street between M and O Streets.

Fortunately, officers were able to get a man to exit the home and talk with them. And police were able to determine that there was no weapon.

Police did not disclose if there were any injuries reported. No arrests were made and police continue to investigate the domestic disturbance.
