Shafers Ace Hardware See’s an Increase in Garden Sales

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM)- Community members have been finding innovative ways to keep themselves busy during the shelter in place order. Many residents may find themselves with a green thumb while also creating a garden to call their own.

Shafers Ace Hardware Store Supervisor Tim Jones says this is the busiest hes seen the garden section in quite some time.

Seeds, flowers, fruits and vegetables are just some of the many options people can choose from in the stores garden section, options that can fit anyone garden goals.

The store is doing their part to take sanitary precautions. Hand washing stations are available for staff and customers to use. The store is also making sure to abide by social distancing protocols.

Some of the most common items being purchased at the moment are tomatoes, peas artichokes, spinach, and arugula.
