U.S. Census Bureau Resumes Drop-Offs at 3,900 Homes in Del Norte and Humboldt Counties

Humboldt County, Ca. (KIEM)– The U.S. Census Bureau resumes drop-offs of the 2020 Census questionnaire packets at front doors in Humboldt and Del Norte counties this week.

9,300 households who do not receive mail at their physical address should expect a Census Bureau staff member to be hand-delivering an invitation and paper questionnaire at their front doors.

Staff has been trained to observe all social distancing protocols and will wear official government-provided personal protective equipment for their safety and the safety of the public.

This operation is contactless and follows the most current federal health and safety guidelines.

If you don’t live in a rural area and haven’t fill out your Census, you still have time. The self-response deadline has been pushed back to August 14th. The 2020 census will help determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding flow into our communities every year for the next decade.
