Salvation Army of Eureka holds first ever, food box distribution event

EUREKA, Ca (KIEM) – With many people suffering from job losses due to COVID-19, feeding their families is becoming difficult.

The Salvation Army of Eureka is holding it’s first-ever, drive-thru food box distribution event on Sunday at 12 p.m.

The Eureka Corps received 400 food boxes from a neighboring Northern California Salvation Army.

The boxes will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Volunteers helping distribute food boxes will follow city, county and state safety guidelines.

Those who are in need are asked to bring an ID, if possible, to receive a food box.

The Salvation Army of Eureka hopes to put a dent in food insecurity as COVID-19 continues to affect our community.
