ARCATA, Ca. (KIEM)-City buildings have had to adjust amid COVID-19 by tailoring their hours and services offered to the public.

Police Chief Brian Ahearn says when the Coronavirus Pandemic hit, the City of Arcata’s primary goal was to help stop the spread of COVID -19 and to make sure their employees, as well as community members stayed safe.

As a result, government offices such as Arcata City Hall and the police station were closed to the public, and some services were suspended.

They are now in the planning stages to reopen, according to Ahearn.
