Names of those who tested positive prior to their deaths released

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM)-The county and the Coroner’s Office have received inquiries and a “Public Records Act” request for identifying information about those who tested positive for covid-19 prior to their deaths.

After discussions with counsel, the Coroner’s Office is able to disclose the requested information for three cases reported to their agency.

Those who tested positive for COVID-19 were all from Eureka.

Their names are:

Ida Newell, age 97, Eureka

Robert Berman, age 96, Eureka

 Katleen Cataldi, age 101, Eureka

No public record exists for the fourth case as it was not reported to the Coroner’s Office.
