ARCATA, Calif. (KIEM)-Arcata High School graduating seniors were honored Thursday, June 11, 2020, with a virtual graduation ceremony, drive-thru diploma distribution, and a procession around the Arcata Plaza lead by the Arcata Fire Department.

It all started today at 12:30 pm with a virtual graduation ceremony that included speeches from students, awards for the valedictorian and salutatorian, teacher shout outs, musical performances, and an end of year senior video.

Students were then invited to receive their diploma in front of the fine art building where their names were announced before they drove around the Arcata plaza.

Arcata High School principal Dave Navarre in a post on the high school website wanted to thank the senior graduation committee for all their work planning this unique celebration.
