HCSO calls for service back to what they were before Covid-19 pandemic

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office says their calls for service have picked back up to what they were before the covid-19 pandemic.

According to Sheriff Honsal, more people are out and about. A major difference from just a couple of months ago. Deputies are more active out on the streets and community members are calling in to report issues to HCSO.

Despite the weather getting warmer, the Sheriff’s Office isn’t too concerned about mass gatherings or people not practicing social distancing. More people are visiting the county’s beaches and rivers, and taking advantage of Humboldt’s many outdoor spaces. This is something that Sheriff Honsal encourages.

In addition to outdoor areas, campgrounds and rv parks have been cleared to begin the re-opening process and can now submit a certification plan to the county.
