Lodging and personal care services can reopen as soon as Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — Another handful of business sectors have been given the go-ahead to begin re-opening.

Hotels, short-term rentals, and personal care services can begin opening back up as soon as this Friday, as long as the business has a certification plan approved by the Emergency Operations Center.

Before, lodging had been allowed for only essential workers and travel. Now, updated guidance allows for non-essential and leisure travel.

All hotels and lodging facilities must reserve 25% capacity to plan for the possibility a guest would need to isolate or quarantine on-site. Short-term rentals need to have booking and cancellation policies in place to allow a guest to remain isolated as well.

Personal care services include places like nail salons, tattoo parlors, and massage studios. For these businesses, both the worker and customer must wear facial coverings.
