Father’s Day on the South Fork Eel River

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) – Families flock to the river for Father’s Day.

It was a little colder in Eureka, but at the California Federation of Women’s Clubs Grove, the temperatures were much higher. Families came to the South Fork Eel River for barbecuing, swimming, and blue skies.

Picnic tables were lined with food and the river was lined with people. Larger crowds were expected for Father’s Day and for the beginning of summer. Cars had to be counted to ensure they all could fit as the parking lot was nearly full.

Other campsites in the area also saw families out and about to celebrate the special day.
