EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM)-It’s going to be a scorcher inland this week and heat advisories are in effect until Tuesday.
According lead meteorologist Alex Dodds from the National Weather Service at Woodley Island, there were 51 heat related deaths of young children across the United States, last year alone.
And those who work outside are more susceptible to heat dangers, as are the very young and the very old.
NOAA advises to take frequent breaks, drink plenty of water, spend more time in the shade, and try to exercise in the early part of the day.
