Lighthouse Plaza Mini Golf Course Reopens After 101 Days

ARCATA, Calif. (KIEM) – The Lighthouse Plaza Mini Golf Course welcomed back customers for the first time in 101 days after being forced to close in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Owner Dean Smither said the temporary closing added stress as a business owner since the mini golf course is a major source of revenue for the plaza. Smither said he has already seen dozens of families out on the course and once the word gets out, he expects business to return to normal.

This will be a new normal however, as the mini golf course capacity was reduced from 90 to 45 and now masks are required unless parties are safely distanced. Golf clubs and golf balls are also soaked in sanitizer after use.
