First 5 Humboldt, Changing Tides Family Services Distribute Emergency Child Care Supplies

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — First 5 Humboldt and Changing Tides Family Services provide emergency supplies to local child care facilities that are serving the children of essential workers.

The deliveries include boxes of 3-ply masks, children’s books, disinfectant, thermometers, and packs of diapers. The supply delivery is a part of a statewide effort by First 5 California that is using $4 million in emergency funding to supply child care providers with 60 days of supplies.

In addition to First 5 Humboldt and Changing Tides, Eureka Mayor Susan Seaman has been working to help improve access to childcare during the pandemic.
