HCDTF makes 2 arrests, gets pounds of narcotics off the streets

FORTUNA, Calif. (KIEM) – Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task force get pounds of narcotics off the street in Fortuna.

On Wednesday around 7 pm, HCDTF agents received information that 19-year-old Juan Navejarm and 20-year-old Marysol Renteria, both from Los Angeles, were in Fortuna with a substantial amount of heroin.

Police contacted the two at a business on the 600 block of South Fortuna Boulevard.  Police say Navejarm tried to conceal a paper bag containing a large amount of suspected heroin. Agents seized nearly 4 and a half pounds of heroin packaged for sale.

Navejarm and Renteria were both detained. They were cooperative and explained to agents they had traveled from LA to deliver narcotics. Both were released and the case is being forwarded to the district attorney’s office for prosecution.
