Fortuna Fireworks Festival holds modified show

FORTUNA, Calif. (KIEM) – On July 3, the Fortuna Fireworks festival held a modified show to encourage social distancing.

The event took place in Fortuna, featuring higher flying fireworks. This allowed for the show to be seen from a greater distance. The Fortuna Fireworks Festival was pleased with the turnout and saw many community members wearing masks and keeping a safe distance.

Prior to the event, the location of the fireworks launch was kept secret. It was later revealed to be on the local high school field. Ultimately, some community members discovered the location, but the event remained spread out with no centralized location.
