Golf courses embrace COVID-19 health precautions

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – Golf courses embrace a new reality as health precautions continue.

Once shelter-in-place orders began to loosen, golf courses reopened in early May. Since then, Eureka Municipal Golf Course sees regular business as community members try to get outside. The staff regularly cleans golf carts and pins while golfers stay six feet away from members outside their party.

One course employee says these new cleaning procedures create new challenges when setting up tee times. Multiple golfers say the course is handling the situation well.
