Dr. Ennis explains the new Covid-19 dashboard for Humboldt County

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — Humboldt County recently unveiled a new Covid-19 dashboard on their website, and Deputy Health Officer Dr. Josh Ennis is giving residents a better idea of what information is included in it.

The dashboard launched last week and includes information such as graphs and charts mapping the spread of the virus and local case count, as well as more in-depth demographic information. Most of the information is updated each day, and some is updated weekly like age range and location of positive cases.

According to Dr. Ennis, the goal is to give residents a better understanding of the information that is driving public health’s decisions when it comes to covid-19.

“We’re also giving a glimpse into some of the preliminary antibody data suggesting how widespread, or lack thereof, the disease has been. Additionally, this dashboard is a work in progress and we’re looking to refine at all times. We’re hoping to allow you to see what is informing some of the decisions we are making,” Ennis says.
