Police searching for man after Eureka stabbing

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – One man was taken to the hospital after getting stabbed twice in the abdomen, in Eureka.

This occurred just before 10 p.m. Tuesday evening, under the Samoa Bridge. Police are searching for a suspect in an area between the bridge and the parking lot near Target, primarily along the Waterfront Trail.

The victim told police he was sitting on a bench when he was attacked. Police say the victim and suspect did not know each other and the motive is unknown at this time.

The suspect is described as a 6 feet 2 inch average build white male in his 40s, with brown shoulder length hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
