Multiple Suspicious Packages Under Investigation

HUMBOLDT HILL, Ca. (KIEM) – Humboldt County Sheriff’s office investigates multiple suspicious packages. Around 10:30 this morning, H.C.S.O. was dispatched to the 5600 block of Humboldt Hill Road for reports of three suspicious packages wrapped in brown paper with no names or other writing that were dropped off on a doorstep. Deputies arrived on scene and deemed the packages suspicious. None of the residents claimed the packages when asked by deputies. Now, the Explosive Ordinance Device team was dispatched scene to investigate further. The roadway was blocked off and residents within a half mile radius were asked to stay inside and avoid the area while law enforcement were on scene. The bomb robot was out for maintenance, so the H.S.C.O used a bomb suit to investigate. The package was x-rayed and determined to contain vinyl records. Deputies at this time are unsure of who they belong to or where they came from, and say that there is no danger to the public.
