2 new Covid-19 cases, 8 recoveries reported Tuesday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — 2 new cases of Covid-19 are reported by the Public Health Department Tuesday, and Humboldt County’s total case count has risen to 167.

43 residents have tested positive since July 1^st, something County Health Officer Dr. Frankovich attributes in part to family and community gatherings. On a more encouraging note, 8 more people have recovered from the virus bringing that number to 142.

Of the total number of cases, 104 people had contact to a known case, 37 were travel related, and 23 were a result of community transmission. Right now, there are 3 cases still under investigation.
