2 new Covid-19 cases, 8 recoveries reported Tuesday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — 2 new cases of Covid-19 are reported by the Public Health Department Tuesday, and Humboldt County’s total case count has risen to 167.

43 residents have tested positive since July 1st, something County Health Officer Dr. Frankovich attributes in part to family and community gatherings. On a more encouraging note, 8 more people have recovered from the virus bringing that number to 142.

Of the total number of cases, 104 people had contact to a known case, 37 were travel related, and 23 were a result of community transmission. Right now, there are 3 cases still under investigation.
