New restrictions for outdoor only operations go into full effect in Humboldt County this Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — Governor Newsom announces a statewide order closing bars and transitioning 6 industry sectors to outdoor only operations, and they will take full effect in Humboldt County this Friday.

The state is requiring all bars that don’t have a permit to serve food to close and businesses should cease operations no later than Friday. Businesses such as restaurants, wineries and tasting rooms, movie theaters, zoos and museums, and family entertainment centers must only offer outdoor services with safety precautions in place. Outdoor dining, carry out, curbside pickup, and delivery are still allowed at this time.

Humboldt is not currently on the state’s monitoring list…and will not be required by the state to fully close additional sectors at this time.
