MET deputies serve 3 search warrants, thousands of cannabis plants destroyed

SOUTHERN HUMBOLDT, Calif. (KIEM) — Thousands of cannabis plants are destroyed by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team.

MET deputies served 3 search warrants for illegal cannabis cultivation in Southern Humboldt. The first on July 14th was in the Shively area with the parcel not having the required county permit and state license to cultivate commercially. Roughly 2,600 growing cannabis plants were destroyed.

The second, also on July 14th, was at a parcel in the Honeydew area that did not possess a state license. 6,900 growing plants were destroyed. The last warrant was served in the Briceland area on July 15th. The parcel did not have a state license and 2,000 plants were destroyed.

All three parcels were found to have multiple water diversion and pollution violations. No arrests were made and the cases will be forwarded to the DA’s Office for review.
