Desiree Sonya Fernandez

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – One woman is arrested in Eureka after intentionally ramming her vehicle into the back of a car.

Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies witnessed a collision between a Hyundai sedan and a Ford Focus while on patrol near Myrtle and Harrison Avenues.

The Focus stopped at a red light, then was rear-ended by the sedan, causing it to collide with a Toyota Tacoma.

23-year-old Desiree Sonya Fernandez told deputies that she felt the driver of the focus was driving too slowly, so she intentionally rammed her car into theirs.

Fernandez was booked into jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, and her bail is set at $35,000 dollars.

No one was injured during the incident.
