ARCATA, Calif. (KIEM) – Local MMA fighter Cass Bell is set to make his return to the cage.

Bell will fight Raufeon Stots at Bellator 242 on the first card since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bell returns with an undefeated record to face Stots who holds a 13-1 record. He will be Bell’s toughest opponent yet.

The COVID-19 pandemic presented multiple obstacles. As gyms had to close, fighters were forced to take time off. Bell’s coach John Thompson said new training methods were employed to continue preparing through the pandemic.

Bell said it was tough getting back into his routine, but he is happy to be fighting injury free. COVID-19 required Bell to be cautious with who he trained with regularly. He will also feel the effects of the pandemic in the cage as there will be no fans at Bellator 242. Despite the different challenges, Bell said he is just excited for the opportunity.

Bell and Stots will face off on July 24 in Connecticut.
