Sexual harassment allegations against Washington NFL team

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Washington’s NFL team has confirmed to CNN that they’ve launched an internal investigation amid allegations of sexual harassment by team staffers.

Fifteen former female employees and two journalists have accused employees of harassment and verbal abuse. The allegations were first reported by the Washington Post.

Some of the team’s employees implicated in the article have been fired or left their positions recently. The post got ahold of text messages from Assistant Director of Pro Personnel Richard Man II. In them, he allegedly made inappropriate, sexual comments to a female employee. Mann was fired in the past week.

The Post also cited accusations against former play-by-play announcer and Senior VP of Content Larry Michael. Former employees say he talked about the attractiveness of a college intern in 2018 when he was being recorded for a team video. Michael retired Wednesday. CNN was not able to reach Mann or Michael for comment Thursday.

According to CNN, Washington Owner Dan Snyder and former team president Bruce Allen were not directly implicated, but Snyder was criticized for fostering a team culture in which such abuse could take place.
