Cass Bell talks Bellator 242

ARCATA, Calif. (KIEM) – Local MMA fighter Cass Bell continues to prepare for his fight at Bellator 242.

The first card since the shutdown will be unlike past fights. The lack of fans will not be the only difference. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bell did not have a normal eight week fight camp. Instead, he received the call only a few weeks ago.

The time off allowed Bell to recover from injuries, but resulted in less training as gyms had to close. Bell said he will not be the only fighter feeling the effects of the pandemic in the cage. While some fighters were able to prepare the entire time, fighters in California were unable to train. He said those fighters might be slacking a bit in cardio, but it is all part of the job. Bell said taking a fight on short notice may happen normally and at the end of the day, it is still a fight.

Bell will face Stots at Bellator 242 on July 24.
