Landy adjusts to new head coach position

ARCATA, Calif. (KIEM) – During the off-season, Humboldt State Women’s Soccer found their new head coach.

Grant Landy is heading into his 24th season as a coach at the NCAA Division II and NAIA levels. He served as the interim head coach since March. After his official hiring, Landy has taken the reigns of the program.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this required a large amount of adapting. Landy’s first order of business was meeting with players. He uses Zoom to interact with the athletes as the team prepares for the upcoming season.

Amid the pandemic, Landy stressed the importance of health and safety. He said the team is hungry and ready to learn. Instead of taking the field in the fall, the season will begin in the spring due to the pandemic.
