Pride in community volunteer group back to work in Crescent City

CRESCENT CITY, Calif. (KIEM) — A group of volunteers were hard at work Wednesday morning up in Crescent City removing unsightly weeds and overgrowth on city-maintained properties.

The volunteer program, pride in community, meets every week on Wednesdays to do what they can to beautify the city and they are in their 4th week.

Wednesday, the group worked at the Battery Point Lighthouse parking lot and along Howe Drive at the harbor at Beachfront Drive.

According to the organizer, Del Norte County 1st District Supervisor Roger Gitlin, the group was started to help the city which has suffered a revenue loss during the first half of 2020 due to Covid-19.

For those interested in participating, the group meets every Wednesday at 10 am at the Battery Point Lighthouse parking lot.
