Fatal Car Crash in Del Norte County

CRESCENT CITY, Ca. (KIEM)- A fatal car crash takes the life of a 34-year-old man in Crescent City.

California Highway Patrol received a call on Saturday from a resident that a 1994 Ford Ranger crashed while travelling northbound on Oceanview Drive north of Peregrine Lane.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle after leaving the roadway, crashing into a mailbox, and going down an embankment.

The vehicle overturned multiple times before coming to a rest on its side, blocking southbound traffic on Oceanview Drive and closing the road for approximately three hours.

The driver passed away from blunt force trauma at the scene of the accident. The crash remains under investigation.
