Logging truck rollover along Kneeland Road leaves driver with moderate injuries

KNEELAND, Calif. (KIEM) — A driver sustains moderate injuries after a logging truck overturns along Kneeland Road. It happened just before 2 pm Monday along Kneeland Road just a few minutes up the hill from Freshwater Park.

According to California Highway Patrol, the driver was traveling westbound down Kneeland Road when he lost control of the truck, it overturned, and came to a stop along the edge of the roadway. The truck was the only vehicle involved in the rollover.

The driver was extricated by firefighters and he sustained moderate injuries, but was alert and oriented when crews arrived on scene. He was transported to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment.

The truck was from the Kindley Burl Company based out of Eureka. Right now, the cause of the crash is still under investigation. The road in the area has been closed, and a detour has been posted to take Greenwood Heights Drive.
