25 Covid-19 cases reported Thursday, increase connected to 2 clusters of cases

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Public Health Department reports 25 new cases of Covid-19 Thursday marking the largest increase recorded in local cases in a single day. The total case count for Humboldt County now stands at 280. The county’s alert level remains at level 3.

According to county health officer Dr. Frankovich, much of the increase in numbers is related to 2 case clusters. One is in a non-cannabis agricultural setting and another up in Hoopa.

Right now, health officials are monitoring 87 active cases. Recoveries remain unchanged. Of the total cases, 147 had contact to a known case, 67 were travel related, and 34 were a result of community transmission. Currently, there are 32 cases still under investigation.
