2 new Covid-19 cases, 24 more recoveries reported Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Public Health Department reports 2 new cases of Covid-19 Friday bringing Humboldt County’s total case count to 282.

Due to the pace of increasing cases, the effectiveness of disease control has been increased to level 3, and the county’s overall threat level is still a level 3.

Right now, health officials are monitoring 65 active cases. 24 more recoveries have been reported bringing that number to 213.

Of the total cases, 154 had contact to a known case, 70 were travel related, and 43 were a result of community transmission, which saw the biggest jump today. Currently, there are 15 cases still under investigation.
