Woofstock festival cancelled over COVID-19 concerns

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – The Sequoia Humane Society announced the cancellation of the popular Woofstock festival.

The annual event will not take place this year due to COVID-19 concerns. The biggest dog festival in Humboldt County was scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 8. Woofstock is normally held at Halvorsen Waterfront Park in Eureka.

The fun-filled day incorporates vendors, food, and games. It also includes live performances, contests, and even more fun for dogs. The 2020 festival would have been the 25th year of Woofstock.

In a Facebook post, the Sequoia Humane Society said both human and furry friends will be missed, but the organization looks forward to next year.
