Eureka Street Art Festival embraces COVID-19 challenges

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – The Eureka Street Art Festival prepares for the third annual event after overcoming a variety of obstacles.

The three organizers were forced to transition to virtual meetings in order to properly plan out the event. The process for acquiring rentals and contracts was drawn out and extra planning was required for safety measures.

In addition to precautions for the public, artists check in at the event headquarters and have their temperatures taken before continuing to work on their artwork. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival has found a way to make the most of the situation. Organizer Jenna Catsos said this year will allow for more of an opportunity to highlight the entire artistic process.
