Arcata Woman Is Arrested After A Multi-Agency Pursuit

Alexis Nizhoni Lowe

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – Eureka police officers attempted a traffic stop just after midnight on Sunday near 14th and J Street after a driver failed to stop at a red light.

22-year-old Alexis Nizhoni Lowe allegedly ran multiple red lights and stop signs while attempting to flee from the officers.

The pursuit continued onto Highway 101 where Arcata Police and Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies took over the chase.

As the driver neared Del Norte County, The California Highway Patrol and Del Norte County Sheriffs joined in the effort.

C.H.P. officers deployed a spike strip near Klamath and stopped the vehicle, which deputies learned had been stolen earlier in the evening near Loleta.

Lowe was booked into the Del Norte County Jail on charges of vehicle theft, evading a peace officer, theft involving a motor vehicle, being under the influence of a controlled substance, and driving with a suspended license.
