EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) The county would like to remind community members that residents can still maintain regular screening appointments with their healthcare providers amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
With the ongoing pandemic still prevalent in the area, many patients have concerns with overcrowding in hospitals and wait times for their screening appointments.
Local health providers would like to remind community members that there is no need to skip out on any screening tests you may be due for. If your healthcare provider insists you make an appointment for screening needs, then make one. if you are due for a mammogram, or blood work it is safe to take a trip to your doctors office.
Some simple steps you can do as soon as you walk into your next appointment is wash your hand with soap and water for at least twenty seconds, do not touch your face, wear your mask, and if you sneeze or cough make sure to do so in a tissue or into your elbow.
