7 new Covid-19 cases, 1 more hospitalization reported Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Public Health Department reports 7 new cases of Covid-19 Friday bringing Humboldt County’s total case count to 309.

According to the Joint Information Center, the county has recorded 76 new cases since August 1^st and 3 new hospitalizations this week bringing the total number pf hospitalizations to 20. One more recovery was reported as well, bringing that number to 242.

Right now, health officials are monitoring 63 active cases. Of the total cases, 186 had contact to a known case, 73 were travel related, and 45 were a result of community transmission. Currently, there are 5 cases still under investigation.
