Humboldt County Drug Task Force Seizes Over 10,000 Xanax Pills

TRINIDAD, Ca. (KIEM) – Thanks to the efforts of the Humboldt County Drug Task Force and Sheriff’s Office thousands of Xanax pills and methamphetamine are taken off the streets of Trinidad.

50-year-old Jody Martin of Redding was stopped while driving on a suspended license with expired registration and false registration tabs on the 100 block of Main Street.

Agents searched her vehicle and found a plastic bag with 250 Xanax pills under the driver’s seat and approximately 10,000 Xanax pills in the trunk, along with half an ounce of methamphetamine.

Martin was interviewed on the scene and her vehicle was towed due to the expired registration.  The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office to request for charges to be filed for possession and transportation of controlled substances for sales, transportation of methamphetamine, displaying false registration, and driving on a suspended license.
