Public Health reports 11 new Covid-19 cases since Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Public Health Department confirms 11 new cases of Covid-19 since Friday. This brings the county’s total case count to 320. Right now, health officials are monitoring 53 active cases.

Since last week, 22 more case has been reported in northern Humboldt, 8 more in the greater Humboldt Bay area, and 4 more cases in southern Humboldt. There have been 21 more recoveries reported bringing that number to 263

As far as the age breakdown, for the second week in a row the biggest weekly increase has been among people under the age of 20 with 13 new cases reported in that age group. People in their 20’s saw the second largest weekly increase with 7 new cases reported. Five more people in their 30’s and 5 more people in their 40’s have tested positive. There were no new cases reported among people 70 years old or older.

Of the total cases, 196 had contact to a known case, 74 were travel related, and 47 were a result of community transmission. Currently, there are 3 cases under investigation.
