8 new Covid-19 cases reported, 2 HSU students test positive

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Public Health Department reports 8 new cases of Covid-19 Wednesday bringing Humboldt County’s total case count to 333.

Health officials are currently monitoring 66 active cases. The number of recoveries and hospitalizations remains unchanged for today. Of the total cases, 200 had contact to a known case, 75 were travel related, and 47 a result of community transmission. Right now, there are 11 cases under investigation.

Late Wednesday afternoon, Humboldt State University confirmed 2 new cases of Covid-19. Both are students who recently moved into campus housing and both have been moved to rooms set aside for isolation.
